If you are missing all your teeth, there are several options we can use to replace your teeth with implants. One of the most effective solutions is the All on 4 method. What makes this method specific and what are its advantages?

The first advantage of this method is that in most cases it is possible to position a temporary bridge on the placed implants the same or the next day. This means that 24 hours after implant placement you could have a fixed solution that allows you to eat and laugh normally.

Another great advantage of this method is that it is suitable for patients with a lack of bone in the posterior parts of the jaw. Due to the specific position during the implant placement, this procedure avoids additional bone reconstruction procedures, which means that the procedure is feasible in most people who have lost all their teeth.

When creating a simulation in a conversation with the patient to define the future appearance of the teeth and smile. The advantage of All On 4 is that we can copy, for example, the shape and position of the teeth as the patient had before or make a completely new and smile as desired. The second phase lasts 10 - 20 days and includes 4 - 5 visits.

What is an implant and in which cases is it used?

The implant is a small screw made of high-quality titanate material with a specially treated surface that serves as a support for crowns and bridges with which we can compensate a lost tooth or more teeth.

In case of complete lack of teeth, the “All on 4” method allows us to place 4 implants in the edentulous upper or lower jaw according to certain rules, and supply the jaw with an acrylic bridge on the same or next day. The acrylic bridge can later be replaced with a fixed prosthetic replacement made of metal-ceramic or titanium acrylate.

What is the price of All on 4 implants?

Will my body accept the All On 4 Implant?

There is very little risk of failure in implant therapy and thus in All On 4 therapy. Globally, All On 4 therapy should have a 98% success rate.

Smile studio has the same success thanks to a detailed examination of the candidates, very detailed planning and execution of the procedure and subsequent continuous monitoring and control.

How is the implant placement procedure performed and how long does it take?

The implantation procedure is performed by a doctor specializing in implantology with local anesthesia, which guarantees the painlessness of the procedure. For a surgical procedure in which 4 implants are placed, it takes 60-90 min.

After the procedure, on the same or the next day on the implants is fixed temporary acrylic bridge.

How long does recovery take after surgical implant placement?

Immediately after the procedure, you will be able to return home by car or other transport and have your first meals. We recommend that you rest at home that day and the next and cool your face with ice to make the swelling as small as possible.

Immediately after the procedure, you will receive additional information regarding recovery and advice on means to alleviate infection or pain.

To speed up the healing process of implants in certain situations, we use PRGF-Endoret technology. Immediately before the procedure, we take a small amount of blood from the patient, from which centrifugation separates plasma rich in growth factors. We place it on the bone around the implant, which accelerates healing.

What implants are used by dentists in the Smile studio?

Smile Studio owns certifications for the installation of several implant systems. We use exclusively Nobel Biocare implants for the All ON 4 procedure, because the whole concept of this therapy was originally made and conceived by Nobel Biocare more than 20 years ago.

Can I have a temporary solution right away?

We always make sure that the patient has some kind of temporary solution. If the situation allows it, we install a temporary acrylic bridge on the implants on the same or the next day.

How long does it take to reach a permanent solution?

The whole procedure, which includes implant placement, resting phase, impression taking, making and installing permanent prosthetic work, takes 6-8 months if it is the upper jaw, or 3-5 months for the lower jaw.

Will I be able to solve my problem forever with the installation of All On 4 implants?

There are certainly preconditions for you to live peacefully after this therapy, but it is a mistake to think that nothing can happen to implants.

It is a misconception that nothing can happen to implants. Regarding the lifespan of a dental implant, it is important to note that dental implantology is a teamwork involving the implantologist, prosthetist, dental technician and, of course, the patient. In other words, all the links in that chain must function flawlessly if we want a long-lasting dental implant. A very important factor for the longevity of implants is oral hygiene and regular check-ups (1-2 times a year). If careful hygiene is lacking, plaque is formed, which over time turns into tartar, which leads to the withdrawal of gums and bones. In this way, the implants lose their bone support, which in extreme cases can lead to the loss of the implant itself (similar to periodontitis). If the patient is a smoker, the success of the procedure and further maintenance of the implant is reduced.

Dr. Damir Mikšić

Education

He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry in Rijeka in 1997 with high marks. After finishing his studies, he continued his education abroad (Rijeka, Zagreb, Milan, Vienna, Berlin, Lisbon…), gaining knowledge from world-renowned professors such as Dr. Lindhe, Dr. Dragoo, Dr. Jovanovich, Dr. Malo, Dr. Anitua and many others.

He is a member of the Croatian Dental Chamber. He holds licenses for several implant systems, of which we would accentuate Astra Tech and Nobel Biocare. Nobel Biocare, as one of the few in Croatia, awarded him a series of certificates "recommended clinic for Nobel Biocare implants".

In 2016, he earned a degree in regeneration specialist in dental implantology and periodontology at the prestigious Charite University Hospital in Berlin.

He was one of the first in Croatia to obtain a license for PRGF technology.

Together with his wife he owns a dental practice since 2003. He speaks English, Italian and German.

					Smile Studio bih preporučila svima jer je jednostavno najbolji, a o tome između ostalog svjedoči i činjenica da mi je ugradnja implantata prošla kao da nisam bila na zahvatu i sutra bih bez ikakvog problema i straha išla opet. "Bol" u mom slučaju jednostavno nije postojala počevši od davanja anestezije, samog zahvata pa i onog trenutka kojeg se najčešće bojimo, a to je kada anestezija popusti i kad zapravo očekujemo nekakvu bol. E pa u mom slučaju zahvaljujući doktoru Damiru nije bila prisutna apsolutno nikakva bol (ni lagana) pa ni onda kada je anestezija skroz popustila pa ni dan nakon, a otoka isto nije bilo, ni malo :) Stoga, posjetite Smile Studio jer tamo nema straha ni boli. 					Kad sam se napokon našla u situaciji da imam dovoljno vremena i novaca za veće zahvate (implantati i ostalo), trebalo je naći ne samo dobrog, nego odličnog zubara. I ja sam ga pronašla u Smile Studiu.

To je Dr. Damir Mikšić.  Nakon više od godinu i pol dana tretmana i suradnje, gledajući finalni proizvod u mojim ustima,  uvjerena sam da je moj izbor bio najbolji. 

Nisam se odlučila za Smile Studio po nečijoj preporuci. Proguglala sam na Internetu sve ordinacije u Rijeci  koje rade zahvate koje sam željela. Svi, naravno, ističu svoju stručnost. Ako niste u struci, tome se mora vjerovati. Ili ne, pa u samom početku odustati.

Ono što je prevagnulo u mojoj odluci da izaberem Smile Studio bilo je slijedeće:

3. Doktor Mikšić je obiteljski čovjek. I on i supruga sa kojom vodi Smile studio su se bavili,i bave se sportom, što za mene znači da vode zdrav zivot. Bez cigareta I previše alkohola.  (Jednom sam hitno morala kod zubara i on je zaudarao po alkoholu, a prst ( bez rukavice) koji mi je gurao u usta mu je vonjao po duhanu. Sve se je to dogadalo u ordinaciji javnog zdravstva.

Meni kao pacijentu nije bilo lako proći kroz cijelu tearpiju.  Ali doktor Mikšić i njegov tim su mi uvelike olakšali muku.  Doktor Mikšić svojim strpljenjem i detaljnim objašnjenjima prije  i tijekom svakog zahvata, a njegova asistentica Mihaela lakoćom kojom mu je asistirala.

Djevojke na recepciji, Sara i Nina, su svojom ljubaznošću,  iskrenim I nenametljivim interesom za mene smanjivale  moj stres čim bih ušla u Smile Studio.

Sara je organizirala moje dolaske u ordinaciju i koordinirala sa dr. Mikšićem. Uvijek  i u najkraćem vremenskom roku mi je prenosile njegove odgovore na pitanja koja sam  imala prije ili poslije mojih dolazaka. 					Doktor Damir Mikšić je apsolutno najbolji stomatolog kojeg sam srela i kod kojeg idem više od godinu dana. Do sada mi je radio razne popravke, uključujući i jedan zubni implantat (Nobel Biocare sa doživotnim jamstvom). Jako je pažljiv, smiren, profesionalan i u svemu vrhunski. Upravo zbog toga sam ga preporučila i članovima svoje obitelji (suprugu, mami) i prijateljima. Također uvijek je spreman odgovoriti na sva moja pitanja i educirati me o svakom postupku koji radi. U Smile studiju u Rijeci se uvijek osjećaš dobrodošlo, sa osmjehom na licu od strane cijelog osoblja, pa im je i naziv potpuno opravdan. 					Z delom ekipe v Smile studiu sem zelo zadovoljna. So strokovni, prijazni, dostopni, vlivajo zaupanje, nudijo prijetne ambiente. Z zobmi sem imela vedno velike težave. Tokrat so bili potrebni koreniti posegi, dograjevanje kosti, vgrajevanje implantatov, protetika. Dr. Damir Mikšič  je vse to izvrstno opravil. Spet se lahko sproščeno smejem, žvečenje se je zelo izboljšalo in tudi z govorom nimam nobenih težav. 					‘SMILE STUDIO Kovačević Mikšić' sam našao (bolje reći ‘ugooglao') preko neta, tražeći zubnu ordinaciju u Rijeci. Prije toga imao sam dvije ponude, jednu u Njemačkoj i drugu u Zagrebu. Prvi termin sam dobio ubrzo, a potom je uslijedila punuda, zapravo više ponuda. Upravo sam tu vidio koliko su kao tim naklonjeni željama/mogućnostima pacijenta. Odmah je bilo jasno što treba napraviti za hitnu sanaciju, a što je stvar estetike i tako je bila struktuirana i ponuda.  Pošto sam se odlučio za cjelokupnu terapiju, koja je uključivala gornju i donju čeljust i nakon odabira materijala, troškovi su bili egzaktno predočeni i apsolutno transparentni. (Tijekom terapije nastaju i nepredviđeni troškovi koji su u mom slučaju bili čak djelomično kompenzirani. Neki postupci nisu bili neophodni i kao takvi nisu niti zaračunati) Na početku sam dobio okvirne termine. Termine za operativne zahvate (ugradnja implantata) dobio sam unaprijed, tako da sam te dane mogao planirati. Sama terapija je iz moje perspektive išla glatko i nastale nepredviđene situacije su se rješavale u hodu i to vrlo uspješno. Ugradnja implantata je izvedena besprijakorno i bez nepotrebnih troškova. To s pravom mogu reći jer sam mogao raditi usporedbu sa još dvije ponude (v.  početak teksta) Korespondencija je najvećim dijelom išla preko e-maila, tako da sam i na pismeno imao  sve termine i čitav tijek terapije. Konačan rezultat je fantastičan. Od ekstremne je važnosti imati povjerenje u tim,  a povjerenje se stječe upravo kroz teške situacije koje se pozitivno riješe. Moderna tehnologija olakšava rad i liječniku i pacijenu, ali su profesionalnost i ljudska komponenta osoblja nezamijenjivi. Dr. Tamara i dr. Damir su se u obje komponente pokazali kao vrhunski. Opuštena radna atmosfera je dodatna pozitivna energija koja puno pridonosi konačnom ishodu. Osoblje je ljubazno, susretljivo i nenametljivo. Nesmijemo zaboraviti da je čitava terapija bila u COVID-19 uvjetima i restrikcijama s kojima smo se morali dodatno nositi.  Time je uspjeh terapije u predviđenom roku još veći. Moja odluka, prihvatiti njihovu ponudu,   pokazala se kao pun pogodak. U cijelosti su ispunili moja očekivanja. Riješili su mi dva problema, zdravstveni i estetski. 					Promjenio sam nekoliko zubara dok nisam dosao u Smile studio.  U Smilu studio sam imao fenomenalno iskustvo svaki put. Ove godine sam zbog prometne izgubio nekoliko prednjih zubi i jedino rjesenje je bilo stavljanje implatanata. U Smile studiu su doktor i doktorica nasli najbolju terapiju i plan ugradnje implantata. Sam proces ugradnje 2 implatata protekao je potpuno bezbolno i vremenski malo vise od 60 min. 					Team iz Smile Studia su ljudi zbog kojih se vise ne bojim ici kod stomatologa. Uz Dr. Tamaru i Dr. Damira se osjecam sigurno i bez straha.
